Recap: 11/10/25 Networking Event in Support of the CRO Foundation
Thank you to everyone who joined the NCMA Woodlawn Chapter's networking event on Monday in support of The Cro Foundation, Inc. It was a fantastic evening connecting with colleagues across government and industry — and thanks to everyone’s participation, NCMA Woodlawn proudly donated $10,000 to The Cro Foundation.
The Cro Foundation was created to honor the life of Ryan Crochunis, who passed away at just 16 after a tragic accident. Through scholarships, community initiatives, and partnerships with organizations like the Brain Injury Association of Maryland (BIAMD), the foundation continues Ryan’s legacy by supporting young people and giving back to the community he loved.

Appreciate this community for always showing up!
Recap: 10/29/2025 Small business Networking Event and Lunch & Learn
On Wednesday, October 29, the NCMA Woodlawn Chapter hosted its Fall Small Business Networking Event and Lunch & Learn, bringing together government contracting professionals, large prime contractors, and small businesses for a full day of connection, collaboration, and insight. Despite the ongoing government shutdown, the event was a success —underscoring NCMA Woodlawn’s commitment to supporting the contracting community through all circumstances.

Connecting Small Businesses and Prime Contractors
The morning networking session featured 17 large business sponsors, all eager to engage with small businesses and discuss partnership opportunities in the federal marketplace. Through engaging roundtable networking sessions, attendees had the opportunity to showcase their capabilities, exchange ideas, and explore ways to build mutually beneficial relationships—helping small businesses position themselves for success in future procurements.
Lunch & Learn: A Look Ahead at Federal Acquisition Reform
The afternoon Lunch & Learn featured a compelling keynote presentation by David Dixon and Alexis Landrum, of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. They delivered a timely discussion on the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul (RFO)—a sweeping modernization effort of the Federal Acquisition Regulation set to go into effect January 1, 2026. Their session provided valuable insights into how these changes will reshape federal procurement, compliance, and contracting strategies. Attendees walked away with a clearer understanding of how to prepare their organizations for the coming shifts in acquisition policy. The NCMA Woodlawn Chapter extends sincere thanks to all participating organizations, sponsors, and attendees for contributing to another successful event supporting the government contracting community.

6th Annual Small business NEtworking Event
-
**Registration open now only for large business sponsors**
Event Description: On Tuesday, May 21, the NCMA Woodlawn Chapter will host its 6th Annual Small Business Networking Event, which connects large Prime contractors with small businesses supporting their mission. Because we listened to your feedback, we’ve expanded this event to give you more time to talk to and network with potential small business partners.
The event features meetings between large and small businesses. The doors will open at 8:00 AM. At 9:00 AM, each large business will have a brief opportunity to introduce themselves and their company and share what it is they are looking for in a small business partner. Round table networking will run from 9:15 AM until 12:15 PM, followed by a Lunch and Learn Session from 12:15 PM to 2:15 PM and a Keynote Speaker starting at 1:00 PM. The day ends with additional networking from 2:15 PM to 3:00 PM to enable you to set up further meetings with contractors you spoke with in the morning sessions (agenda forthcoming). The in-person Small Business Networking Event offers a way for small businesses to position themselves to win in the government marketplace and for large businesses to capitalize on the unique features a small business can offer, becoming a “win-win” for both companies.
The Small Business Networking Event has been successful due to the ability to initiate partnerships between small and large businesses leading to fruitful business relationships. The NCMA Small Business Committee invites you to participate as one of our 17 Large Business Sponsors. Large Business Sponsors can range from multi-billion dollar corporations to any business not qualifying as a small, including those who just recently graduated from their small business status and are looking for small business partners to fulfill agency socioeconomic requirements.
Sponsorship: For a minimal sponsorship fee of $1,000.00, large business sponsors get their own table where small business representatives come to introduce themselves in a series of multiple, short Roundtable Connections.
Roundtable Connections: Roundtables allow eight (8) small business participants to 1) introduce themselves, 2) describe their company capabilities, and 3) ask questions. The large host company explains the skills and capabilities they seek from small businesses. Each Roundtable Connection will last 15 minutes.
Our Large Business sponsors gain much more by participating in this event, including:
· Lunch and Learn Participation: You will receive 2 tickets to the Lunch and Learn Event and the Keynote Speaker immediately following the Small Business Event, providing you additional opportunities for discussions with potential partners.
· Visibility: Your company’s logo will be placed on the NCMA Woodlawn Chapter’s Website, at your breakout table, and in event materials. Your participating staff will be seen by numerous small businesses, as opposed to just being a name on a business card or email.
· Strategic Increase in Potential Small Business Partners: You will have the opportunity to specify the types of businesses you are looking for and relate them to specific opportunities. This information will be provided to small business participants in advance so you will have potential partners with the capabilities and socio-economic statuses you desire coming to your sessions. Plus, you will receive a roster of all small business attendees and information about them, including NAICS codes, socio-economic status, and core capabilities. This event is a great way to expand your strategic vendor base and to meet the new PRICE Act requirements.
BECOME A SPONSOR TODAY! Sponsors are limited to the first 17 large businesses to register. Register on the NCMA Woodlawn Chapter website: https://ncmawoodlawnchapter.org/meet-reg1.php?id=126
