On Thursday, October 29, 2020, from 9AM to 1PM, the NCMA Woodlawn Chapter will host its 3rd Annual Small Business Networking Event. The virtual event connects large Prime contractors with small businesses supporting their mission. It offers a way for small businesses to position themselves to win in the government marketplace and for large businesses to capitalize on the unique features a small business can offer, becoming a “win-win” for both companies.
The Small Business Networking Event has been successful over the past two years due to the participation of sponsors. This year, the NCMA Small Business committee intends to make the event bigger and better than last year, and we’re inviting you to participate as a sponsor.
The event typically hosts 16+ large businesses and government OSDBU offices participating and connecting with industry small businesses. This year, we plan to expand the event by including OSDBUs representing many agencies including CMS, SAMHSA, NIH, ACF, ARC, AHRQ, HHS/PSC, ASPR, OIG, CDC, and IHS. Furthermore, we’re extending our sponsorship invitation to any business not qualifying as a small, including those who just recently graduated from their small business status and are looking for small business partners to fulfill agency socioeconomic requirements.
For a minimal sponsorship fee of $200.00, large business sponsors get their own virtual room where small business representatives come to introduce themselves in a series of multiple short Roundtable
Connections. Please note that large business sponsors are provided two attendee registrations for the program with their paid sponsorship. Roundtables are an opportunity for 6 small business participants to: 1) introduce themselves; 2) describe their company capabilities; and 3) ask questions. The large host company explains the skills and capabilities they are seeking from small businesses. Each Roundtable Connection will last 15 minutes.
Our “Other than Small Business” sponsors gain much more by participating in this event, including:
- Visibility. Your company’s logo will be placed on the NCMA Woodlawn Chapter’s Website, in your breakout session rooms, and in event materials. Your participating staff will be seen by numerous small businesses, as opposed to just being a name on a business card or email.
- Strategic increase in potential small business partners. You will have the opportunity to specify the types of businesses you are looking for and relate them to specific opportunities. This information will be provided to small business participants in advance so you will have potential partners with the capabilities and socio-economic statuses you desire coming to your sessions. Plus, you will receive a roster of all small business attendees and information about them, including NAICS codes, socio-economic status, and core capabilities. This event is a great way to expand your vendor base to meet subcontractor socioeconomic goals.
- A chance to hear from HHS leaders, including Keynote Speaker Derrick L. Heard, the Deputy Director for the Office of Acquisition & Grants Management (OAGM) and Chief Grants Management Officer within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
